What happens to it

Nothing auto-publishes. Every submission waits for a person. If it holds up, it goes to the same pipeline that builds the rest of the site, which checks it against everywhere else it can see before anything lists — so a submission is a lead, not a listing. Venues that come with a calendar link get watched from then on, which is why those are worth the most.
